A software bug which can unlatch vehicle doors has forced Land Rover to recall more than 65,000 cars to fix the glitch.

The problem affects Range Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles sold between 2013 and now.

Land Rover said no accidents or injuries were reported to have occurred as a result of the software bug and adverts have been placed in newspapers informing owners about the recall and the issue. Owners will not have to pay for the modifications to be made, it added.

The manufacturer has said that the recall was not related to problems with keyless ignition and locking systems on some luxury cars that have seen them targeted by thieves.
