MG has facelifted the MG5 estate, with prices now starting at £30,995.
The MG5 is the only electric estate car currently available. It has been restyled, to give a sleeker appearance and features an updated interior.
Two specifications are offered: the SE priced at £30,995 and the Trophy at £33,495. The new MG5 is £1,300 more expensive than the previous version.
From launch, the MG5 is available with a 61.1kWh battery (Long Range), giving a range of 248 miles (WLTP). The front wheels are driven by an electric motor which produces 156PS and 280Nm of torque.
A Standard Range version, with a 50.3kWh battery and 198-mile range (WLTP) will arrive at a later stage. In this case, the electric motor produces 177PS.
AC charging is possible at up to 11kW, while DC fast-charging (up to 87 kW) can charge the battery to 80% in about 40 minutes.
The SE trim includes MG Pilot, automatic LED headlights and taillights, roof rails, rear parking camera, adaptive cruise control and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto as standard.
Trophy models include rear privacy glass, leather upholstery with electric seat adjustment and heated front seats, 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, rain sensing wipers and a 360-degree camera.
A new 10.25-inch infotainment system is fitted, which is now capable of supporting iSMART connected car functionality through MG’s dedicated smartphone app.
The new MG5 EV can now tow up to 500Kg and is also equipped with Vehicle-To-Load (V2L) capability, meaning users can power other electric devices such as camping equipment using the energy stored in the battery.
The facelifted MG5 is available to order now.
