GWM Ora has unveiled a yet-to-be-named electric saloon car as its second model to launch in the UK.
The newcomer is expected to go on sale in Q1 2024, with specifications, pricing and name due to be announced in the coming months. In other markets it's known as the 'Lightning Cat'.
Pricing and specification are said be "competitive" to brands like Tesla, Hyundai and Kia.
GWM Ora said the vehicle will have an electric range of around 300 miles (WLTP) and offer two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive powertrain options. In China it uses an 82kWh battery.
A potent model with 400PS with 680NM of torque, resulting in a 0-62mph time of just over 4.4 seconds, is also on the cards.
It shares the same retro styling as GWM Ora's first model to launch in the UK, the Funky Cat.
Toby Marshall, managing director of GWM Ora UK, said: “The reveal of our next premium electric vehicle in the UK is a really momentous occasion for the brand. It signals the high level of commitment and investment from GWM Ora to establish itself as a leader in multiple segments across the UK. We always knew our first model, Ora Funky Cat, was just the start. There are lots more exciting things to come.”
A pre-production show vehicle is making its public debut at Fully Charged Live on April 28-30.
