Omoda has published pricing and specification for the 5 SUV, which will go on sale in March 2024 with a choice of petrol or electric powertrains.

The new brand is a subsidiary of China's largest car manufacturer, Chery Group.

Pricing will start from £24,000 OTR for the Comfort variant, and £27,000 OTR for the Noble variant.

The two trim levels for the Omoda 5 are generously equipped. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and wireless charging for two mobile phones will be available as standard for a connected driving experience.

The premium trim level Noble, will feature 360-degree exterior 3D camera technology to enhance situational awareness.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) including ACC adaptive cruise control, Lane Keeping Assist and Autonomous Emergency Braking will provide additional support for drivers.

Omoda 5 models also feature advanced LED lighting, including an adaptive lighting system as standard.

For those seeking an even more sporty and premium SUV, the Noble variant offers additional features such as a leather steering wheel in a range of colour options including black, red, green and grey, a power sunroof, heated steering wheel and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Fleet News was given an exclusive walkaround of the new SUV, earlier this year, when Omoda revealed an ambition to open a network of 50 showrooms in the UK.

The Omoda 5 blends styling cues from the Cupra Formentor, MG 4 and Nissan Aryia. Its dashboard appears to be heavily influenced by the Kia EV6, with a pair of conjoined 10.25-inch screens and a row of touch sensitive quick keys.

An electric version will also be available from launch.

No official specification for the UK-bound EV have been released but Omoda did present the car at the Shanghai motor show, in May. The brand outlined a 61kWh battery pack with a 280-mile range, a 224PS power output and a 10%-80% charging time of around 35 minutes.

The Omoda 5 is expected to go on sale from March 2024.
