Marcus Blakemore has been promoted to managing director of Gain Solutions, with Robin Watson becoming its first chairman.

The company offers fleet and dealer independent solutions covering the management of captive, external and hire fleets, vehicle appraisals, refurbishment technologies, logistics and dealership processes.

The business was established 17 years ago by Phil Robinson (the current head of finance) and Watson.

Watson will focus on developing the long-term strategy, as well as undertaking special projects for the business.

Blakemore said: "The business is set on strong foundations and in order to implement our ambitious growth plans we will strengthen our senior management team, recruit more staff and looking to further improve upon our already great services.”

In the past few years, Gain Solutions has grown significantly, especially its core business of supporting the used car and de-fleet programmes for some of the UK’s leading motor manufacturers, as well as the inspect and collect operation.
