Epyx has created a used car engagement team as the number of dealers utilising its 1link Disposal Network platform to acquire stock continues to grow.
Mark Davis has been named as senior online engagement manager, while Lauren Clifford becomes online engagement manager for the platform, which is used for remarketing by several major fleets.
Vicky Gardner, head of remarketing at Epyx, explained that the 1link Disposal Network was seeing an increase in its buyer base among franchise dealers, independents and car supermarkets.
She said: “We saw substantial growth for the platform last year with the buyer base increasing by 23% and the volume of vehicles sold rising by 15%. This has continued into 2019.
“To capitalise on this success, the new engagement team has been created both to help existing customers get the most out of 1link Disposal Network and to increase new customer penetration.
“While these are new roles for Mark and Lauren, both are longstanding members of the 1link Disposal Network department at Epyx and have in-depth knowledge of the remarketing sector.”
Gardener explained that car supermarkets would be especially targeted by the engagement team given their current level of growth and need for high quality stock.
“It appears to us that car supermarkets and 1link Disposal Network are very well-matched,” she said. “Our proposition is based on providing top grade, well-priced stock from reputable fleets using technology to make the purchasing process as easy as possible.
“This very much fits in with the business model of most of the major car supermarkets and we are already having productive conversations with some of the most well-known and respected.”
The creation of the engagement team is part of a restructuring of the 1link Disposal Network department at Epyx to incorporate the existing settlement and claims functions.
Gardener said: “The whole team is growing alongside the platform and we have made some changes designed to deliver a much enhanced level of support for our customers.”
Epyx’s 1link Disposal Network is one of the longest-established sources of trade stock in the UK, offering a large selection of cars and vans from leasing companies, motor manufacturers and more.
