The operator of Thrifty Car and Van Rental in the UK, the Scot Group, has started its rebrand of 90 rental locations in the UK to include the new name of Switch as part of its future growth strategy.

The company is hoping the new Switch branding will stand out and increase visibility for the business out on the roads.

It first launched Switch back in June and confirmed that Thrifty will continue to operate alongside the new Switch brand for "years to come".

Linda Malliff, Scot Group’s director of operations, said the Switch brand will also enable the rental business to be “more proactive in how we serve our customers”.

She said: “The Switch logo really stands out, which is exactly what we plan to do with our new rental offering.

“It’s brilliant to see Switch coming to life across our locations and our branded vehicles means we’re super visible on the road too.

“Switch enables us to be more proactive in how we serve our customers and we’re already off to a strong start with onboarding new clients. The future is hugely exciting - and very orange.”

The first Switch locations are at London Heathrow Airport and in the Greater London Borough of Bexley.

The signage rollout follows the branding of the group’s vehicles - 3,000 of which have already been dual-branded and are operational, with over 24,000 vehicles expected to receive the Switch branding.

The Switch orange branding is being added to the existing blue Thrifty branding at all co-located Scot Group premises. Switch says it expects the rebranding work to be completed by December 2024.

Exeter-based Scot Group launched Switch in June this year to provide flexible car and van rental services tailored to small to medium businesses (SMEs) and corporate clients, with plans to introduce “innovative mobility solutions” in the future.
