Skoda has confirmed a sporty vRS version of its Elroq compact SUV will launch this summer.
The performance-focused model will have a power output of 340PS and offer a range of up to 340 miles (WLTP).
It uses a dual-motor powertrain paired with a 79kWh battery. Charging rates of up to 185 kW at DC fast-charging stations enable the battery to recharge from 10% to 80% in around 26 minutes
The car accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 5.4 seconds, with a top speed of 111mph.
To improve handling, a sports suspension lowered by 15mm at the front and 10mm at the rear is fitted as standard. A new steering set-up takes into account the specific tuning of the vRS chassis to create a sportier driving feel, while larger brakes are also installed.
Visually, the Elroq vRS benefits from gloss black window trims, roof rails, mirror caps and badges. There's also an exclusive 21-inch alloy wheel design.
The interior features Suedia microfibre upholstery with lime green contrast stitching and a carbon-look décor. The three-spoke heated sports steering wheel is covered in perforated leather. It too comes with lime-green stitching along with a vRS badge. Heated front sports seats with integrated head restraints and stainless-steel pedal covers complete the overhaul.
Johannes Neft, Skoda Auto board member for technical development, said: “Skoda vRS models traditionally combine dynamic performance and sporty looks with well-balanced driving characteristics and practicality. The Elroq vRS is no exception.
"In terms of design, the Elroq vRS introduces the new Modern Solid design language to our vRS portfolio. Its high-gloss Tech-Deck Face fits in perfectly with the black accents that are a hallmark of our most dynamic models. This appealing package makes the Elroq vRS the ideal everyday companion.”
UK pricing and specifications for the Skoda Elroq vRS will be released in late April with the first examples of the car arriving in the summer.
