Bobby's Foods has downsized part of its fleet from 7.5 tonne trucks to 3.5 tonne Renault Master box vans.
14 3.5 tonne Renault Master L3 chassis cabs have been supplied by Renault Trucks Midlands, fitted with bespoke and lightweight Fred Smith and Son’s box bodies complete with internal shelving.
The vans will be used for one-day load deliveries, distributing snacks, sweets and cakes direct to local stores throughout England, Scotland and Wales.
“This is the first time Bobby’s has used Renault Trucks,” explained transport manager Julian Hill.
“We were looking for replacements for some older vehicles in our fleet and just felt that the Renault Master was more suitable for our requirements and perfect for the job. Bobby’s provides a fortnightly food distribution service to local stores and we promise ‘no waiting or chasing’ to our customers. It is therefore imperative that our vans are up to the job and assist us with providing a fast and efficient service. We felt that the Renault Master was more robust than others on the market and that the suspension and reinforced chassis would ensure maximum reliability.”
Bobby's Foods fleet of 158 vehicles operate from the company's head office and 11 regional depots.
