Citroën’s ‘Relay Ready to Run’ range of ready-bodied vehicles is being expanded, and an all-new Euro 6 engine line-up is being introduced.
Joining the established range of tippers, dropsides and Luton vans in the Relay Ready to Run range are:
- A new ‘Plant & Go’ small plant carrier
- A new car transporter
- Two new Crew Vans
Offering a high payload, combined with practicality and versatility, the Plant & Go small plant carrier is an important addition to Citroën’s Relay Ready to Run range.
The vehicle has the ability to transport one large, or two or more smaller items of plant. Its unique design allows general site items to also be carried. Operators also have the option of using the vehicle as a traditional dropside to transport items such as jet washers, gas cylinders or scaffolding. The load area is easily accessible, due to a floor height of just 530mm from the ground.
A key feature of the Plant & Go’s multi-function bodywork is its removable light alloy loading ramps, which double as the load bay’s sideboards. This innovation removes the need for a specific ramp or tail lift, and helps to keep the kerb weight of the vehicle down to an impressive 1,860kg.
The Relay-based 3.5 tonne gvw car transporter has been converted by KFS Special Vehicles and specifically targets the vehicle logistics and dealer stock movement sectors. With a drop frame chassis design that is exclusive to KFS, the car transporter has a 1,760kg kerb weight, achieved thanks to innovative engineering and extensive use of lightweight materials.
The car transporter specification includes a driver’s airbag, heated and electrically adjustable door mirrors, remote central locking, CD radio and electric windows, all as standard. The Relay Ready to Run car transporter offers a number of important benefits. Its low deck height results in a shallower ramp angle for improved vehicle loading. It also boasts 2.44m (8ft) lightweight alloy ramps.
Also joining the range are two new Relay Ready to Run Enterprise Crew Vans. Available in L1H1 and L3H2 configurations. These safe, comfortable vehicle conversions – created by CoTrim – affords operators a large load space, as well as ample room for the driver and five passengers. The Relay Ready to Run Enterprise L1H1 Crew Van has a load floor length of 1,500mm, plus an extra 380mm under the rear seats. In the L3H2 model, there is a total floor load length of 2,535mm, plus the extra 380mm under the rear seats.
With safety in mind, the Crew Vans’ rear seats have been designed and tested to comply with EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval standards. The integrated, moulded bulkhead has been tested to ISO 27956 for load restraint protection.
The Relay Ready to Run Enterprise L1H1 is priced at £20,450 + VAT, while the larger L3H2 is available at £26,250 + VAT.
These new models will, like the other models in the Relay Ready to Run range, be available from stock via Citroën’s Business Centre network and other large Citroën dealers. The Relay Ready to Run range is included in the Citroën LCV price list and has a full 2 year unlimited mileage/3 year 100,000 mile factory warranty, covering all elements of the chassis cab and the body conversion.
Jeremy Smith, Citroën’s head of commercial vehicles and business sector operations, said: “The expanded Relay Ready to Run range now caters for an even wider range of specialist applications. The new range continues Citroën’s policy of using the very best converters in their individual fields. We back these high quality, competitively priced conversions with a full factory warranty and offer them with the option of Citroën Contract Motoring Finance Lease and Contract Hire agreements.”
