A new, free online maintenance and repair service is to be launched by FleetCheck at Commercial Show 2018.

Called Garage Link, FleetCheck says it offers small-medium-sized fleets who pay for and manage their own vehicle maintenance with virtually all of the key advantages of a major fleet operator.

Providing a single point of access to thousands of garages nationwide through an online portal, it also also delivers savings of up to 30%, said FleetCheck.

It also includes pre-authorisation of work, centralised billing and automatic loading of all information into FleetCheck’s fleet management software.

Peter Golding (pictured), managing director at FleetCheck, said: “Many of our small-medium-sized customers either buy their own vehicles or lease them without a maintenance package, and then use our management software to track and control all of their SMR activity.

“However, up until now, the purchasing element has been potentially compromised. It would have been next to impossible for them to buy or access benefits such as a national SMR supplier network, advantageous buying terms and consolidated billing.

“Garage Link resolves these issues. If you run just half a dozen vans that operate across the country, then you can find servicing providers in Aberdeen and another in Southampton, using our online directory.

“You’ll know exactly what it will cost you in advance, while accessing our discounts, and you’ll receive a single bill, detailed every month.”

The service is being provided through a partnership between FleetCheck and Allstar.

Golding said: “We believe that there is massive potential for the use of Garage Link among our customers and that, at no cost to our fleet customers, it should deliver a whole range of cost, efficiency and even safety advantages.

“Where we have offered the service on a trial basis to our existing users, take-up has been immediate and successful. FleetCheck has more than 600 customers operating around 60,000 vehicles and this has huge appeal for many of them.

“We are looking forward to showing Garage Link to commercial vehicle fleets at CV Show 2018 along with some other new exciting additions to our product range.”
