Toyota is to launch two fully-electric vans as part of a plan to grow its LCV business in Europe.
The manufacturer will also launch the Proace City range and a new brand, Toyota Professional, which aims to add focus and dedication to LCVs across its European network.
Matt Harrison, Toyota Motor Europe executive vice-president, said: “The expansion and electrification to Toyota Motor Europe’s LCV product range will be supported by new Toyota Professional branding.
“This highlights Toyota’s commitment to its growing number of LCV customers and includes a dedicated network to ensure we deliver the right customer experience.”
Proace City compact van will go on sale early next year, joining the Proace medium van, Hilux pick-up and Land Cruiser Utility Commercial in Toyota’s LCV range.
Developed in collaboration with Groupe PSA, Proace City will be available in two lengths – short at 4.4m and long at 4.7m.
Both can be specified with three front seats and as panel or glass vans: the long version is also available as a crew cab.
The passenger version is offered with five or seven seats both in the short and long version.
As well as a range of petrol and diesel powertrains with power ranging from 75PS to 130PS, Proace City will be available as a fully-electric model from 2021.
Toyota will also launch a fully-electric Proace next year. No details on range has yet been announced for the electric models.
