Volkswagen has introduced a range of new powertrain and trim options for the Golf, ID 3, ID 4 and ID 5.

The new additions offer an enhanced specification and new entry-level price points.

Two of the most popular trims in the Golf line-up - Match and Black Edition - are now available with new engines.

The Match trim was re-introduced across much of the Volkswagen range in early 2024 and the Golf Match is now available with Volkswagen's second-generation eHybrid plug-in hybrid powertrain, priced at £36,140

Electric-only driving of more than 88 miles is possible with the car’s 19.7 kWh battery, which can be charged at home with up to 11kW AC and at rapid public stations with up to 40kW DC. When the engine is engaged, the system output is 204PS.

Features that come as standard include 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, a rear-view camera, adaptive cruise control, Lights and Vision package, Discover navigation system, Park and Comfort technology package including Park Assist Pro, Lane Assist and Climatronic air conditioning.

Golf Black Edition gains a petrol 1.5 eTSI mild hybrid and a diesel 2.0 TDI. Both engines have a 150PS power output and are paired with an automatic seven-speed direct-shift gearbox (DSG). Prices for the Golf Black Edition 1.5 eTSI and 2.0 TDI are £33,690.00 and £35,500.00 respectively.

VW ID5

The ID 3 hatchback gains two new trims: Pure Essential and Pure Match. They are both paired with a new entry-level 52kWh battery and a 170PS motor of power, giving a range of approximately 240 miles.

The Pure Match has more standard features than the Pure Essential, including 18-inch alloy wheels, metallic paint, a comfort package (heated front seats, navigation, two-zone Climatronic air conditioning), a rear-view camera, carpet mats and tinted windows. The ID 3 Pure Essential and Pure Match are priced at £30,850 and £32,210 respectively.

The existing ID 4 Pure Match gains new 19-inch alloy wheels, but its price is lowered by £3,090 to £39,550.

The ID 5 line-up, meanwhile, is being bolstered by the Pure Match, which has the same entry-level 52kWh battery as the new ID 3. Maximum range for the ID 5 Pure Match is 222 miles, and its comes with 19-inch alloy wheels, metallic paint, comfort package, rear-view camera, carpet mats and tinted windows. It is available at £41,050.

Volkswagen has also enhance the line-up of its sportier GTX models with new GTX Edtion trim levels for the ID 4 and ID 5 GTX.

Specification in addition to existing GTX models includes metallic paint, Assistance Pack Plus (area view camera, electric tailgate, IQ. Drive Travel Assist, Park Assist Plus, memory feature for Park Assist and side assist) and the Interior Sport Pack Plus (power-adjustable ergoActive comfort seats with massage function, integrated front head restraints and ArtVelours microfleece inserts).

Tthe ID 4 GTX Edition and ID 5 GTX Edition are available for £52,205 and £53,705 respectively.
