Zeekr 7X unveiled as Chinese Tesla Model Y rival

Zeekr has unveiled the 7X, a family-oriented electric SUV that is destined for sale in Europe.

The Tesla Model Y rival will be available in China, initially, before arriving in global markets within a year.

Built on an enhanced 800V electrical system, the Zeekr 7X offers two battery options for different driving needs: a 75kWh battery for a driving range of 375 miles or a 100kWh unit with a 484-mile range. The smaller battery benefits from Zeekr's ultra fast charging capability, enabling a charge from 10% to 80% in 10.5 minutes.

The five-seater SUV features a roomy and comfy interior. Zeekr claims superior headroom and legroom when compared to existing midsize SUVs. There's a set of 32 storage compartments throughout the interior and a 616-litre boot.

The Zeekr 7X is equipped with silicon carbide-powered e-motors, enabling it to accelerate from zero to 62mph in just 3.8 seconds.

Zeekr, a Geely brand, is expected to make its UK debut in 2026. It plans to sell cars via a direct sales model.
