FLEET decision-makers say they expect to recruit more staff in the next 12 months to work on fleet-related functions. A survey taken at Fleet Show 2000 revealed that of seven possible future fleet operation changes, an expansion in staff numbers was the number one likelihood, according to 32 of 111 fleet decision-makers surveyed.

The survey, by Farrugia Leo research and Consultancy, also revealed that 31 of the people surveyed expected their companies to offer cash for car options in the next year and increase vehicle choice. In addition 20 fleet managers expected more fleet functions to be outsourced and 19 expected vehicle choice to be limited.

However, few fleet decision-makers expect to change their current acquisition policies with present policies - either outright purchase or leased - expected to remain in place.
