Mobility solutions provider ONWRD has launched a journey subscription service to assist businesses with employee travel.
The new service offers on-demand and pre-book taxi and chauffeur services, alongside the firm’s existing vehicle rental and subscription provision.
Mark Thompson, ONWRD managing director, said: “Pre-pandemic, UK businesses were spending an estimated £3 billion per year on taxi journeys and, as business travel continues to increase, this spend will increase in proportion to other modes of Mobility.
“We know that the availability of rental vehicles has been severely impacted, above all for short notice, short duration hires, as suppliers are unable to fulfil this demand with limited fleets. In addition, disruptions and cancellations across the rail network makes this an unreliable, not to mention expensive, option for many.
“With company car ownership on the decline, giving customers access to a UK-wide network of hundreds of thousands of fully vetted vehicles and drivers makes complete sense. Customers already work with ONWRD because we take away all of the headaches and leg work involved in keeping their staff on the move through vehicle rental and subscription. The ONWRD Journey service does just the same, but with journeys of just a few minutes or a few miles.”
The new solution, delivered in partnership with Jyrney, provides real time tracking and communication, ensuring passengers can see the exact whereabouts of the driver, and companies can track whether their passenger has been collected. CO2 emissions are also tracked and reported and invoices for the journey are sent directly to the company, so employees don’t have to pay and reclaim expenses.
Daniel Price, co-founder and CEO of Jyrney, added: “We are delighted to be working alongside ONWRD and AAM Group on the first of a number of exciting projects. Mark was one of the first in the fleet sector to approach us with an idea to bring the concept of onward transportation to their customer base, saving time, costs and expense claim processes. Jyrney further enhances that thinking with proprietary technology, bringing the supplier network and customer together on to a single platform and easily integrated API.”
AAM Group company ONWRD launched in April this year and has already achieved strong growth and developments including the completion of Alliance Rental’s incorporation into the business, with overall vehicles on rent up by 22%.ONWRD has also delivered a wide range of Hybrids, PHEV's and BEV's under its e-FLEX product, including Electric Vans.
