Tesla has expanded is self-serve test drive programme to 17 locations, giving greater national coverage.
By expanding the scheme, Tesla says it is enabling individuals without easy access to a Tesla Store to experience Tesla at a time and place that suits them.
After scheduling their Self-Serve Test Drive, drivers receive an email with information on what to expect and are contacted by a Tesla advisor to confirm their 30-minute appointment and answer any questions that they may have.
On the day of the test drive, drivers will be guided via the Tesla smartphone app, in full autonomy, locating, unlocking, and starting the vehicle. After entering the vehicle, a test drive walkthrough will appear on the car's central touchscreen to assist the driver in adjusting the vehicle settings to their preferences.
At any point during the appointment, participants can contact a Tesla advisor by phone, through the Tesla app, to ask any questions. At the end of the appointment the car is returned to its original spot and locked using the Tesla app.
